Orthodontics

Braces are the first thing to come to mind when consumers think about orthodontics. Nevertheless, orthodontics is more than braces. Orthodontists are concerned with the position of the tooth, what future motion may be necessary so that the patient’s bite  is completely operational, and what’s induced them to get to their present position. Dr Amy uses the latest technology in her practice, some orthodontic possibilities to straighten your teeth, including traditional braces to invisible braces. Each system will vary by patient, and ranges in cost and treatment span. A consultation with Dr Amy will help determine which treatment is right for you.

One option at Dr Amy’s are clear orthodontics aligners. A dental patient’s teeth can straighten without mounts and the wires of conventional braces. The aligners contain a series of clear, removable trays that match over the tooth to straighten them. Each tray should be worn by the patient for a given quantity of time, typically around 20 hours each day for fourteen days before the patient may progress in the next tray. Dr Amy will present you with a custom plan just for you. Generally in most scenarios, teeth can straighten from six to 18 months. Clear orthodontic aligners are ideal for patients with moderate or light crowding, or minor spacing problems. They might not be right for individuals with serious crowding or spacing. More advanced orthodontic treatment may be required by patients with crossbites, overbites or acute bite while a slight malocclusion can be corrected by the aligners.

Unlike conventional braces, the trays might be removed for flossing, brushing, and eating. Patients can experience this kind of orthodontic treatment without the normal distress connected with routine braces because the trays are clear.
